Primary PrincipalsThe following 4 primary principals are pivotal in the effective management of health and safety on our sites:
Our commitment to these principals ensures that Working Environments continue to lead the way across our industry regarding all health and safety issues. Health and Safety Management SystemWorking Environments are committed to achieving our own target of managing the safety sites in our industry. As an ‘Investor in People’ we recognise that the singular most important attribute necessary to achieve this goal is our team’s ownership of their individual responsibility towards health and safety. We will employ MSafe to act as independent health and safety advisors providing continual specialist support for our company carrying out unscheduled monthly health and safety review, reporting findings to our Board of Directors as part of the on-going assessment and improvement cycle described below.
TrainingTotal of 34 safety training days undertaken 2008As a Company we provide all our staff with the necessary training and equipment to ensure our own safety at work, as well as the safety of those around them. To this end, every Working Environments operative from Labourer to Director are CSCS trained and certified in the relevant skills demanded by their role. Every Working Environments employee is also Red Cross trained in basic first aid. The primary level of training while important to us as a Company only represents a starting point for our philosophy of continuing personal development. In 2009 Working Environments invested £100,000 providing specific training in health and safety related issues for our Site Managers and Project Managers. We regard this ongoing training as an essential an integral part to our health and safety development. Implementing Health and Safety Standards on Site
Removal of WasteWaste will be removed from site and placed in allocated containers. Waste material that comes within the scope of the COSHH Regulations will be kept separately and placed in the correct containers. Our Company will only use officially licensed waste carriers. A full description of the Company generated waste will be made available on request. Planning and MonitoringOur health and safety management system is carefully implemented and stringently adhered to by our site management teams. Our attention to detail ensures that method statements and risk assessments are not only task specific but that they combine consideration of practicalities for working on site without compromising the safety and wellbeing of our site operatives and those working around them. Our ‘no blame’ culture encourages all site operatives to monitor the safety of those around them on site and insists that all health and safety issues are dealt with immediately as a matter of paramount importance. This non-adversarial philosophy makes it possible to collect and monitor accurate health and safety performance statistics from our sites which enable us to review and improve our on-going performance as a Company. These statistics are recorded in the first instance by the careful undertaking of fast and accurate incident investigations.Corporate Sustainability PolicyClick here to download and view our Corporate Sustainability Policy. |
